June 4th ~ Rites of Renewal: Crafting rituals for ourselves and our community
From 7pm-9pm GMT
Crafting Ritual Series 2 of 3.
In this three part series across the year, learn how you can build a personalised and unique approach to crafting public and private ceremonies for your community and your field.
Drawing on her extensive work and experience as a celebrant and leader or ritual and ceremony for small groups and public ritual, Hannah Sanders will help you build your own personal approach, from working collaboratively, finding the right place, honouring the spirits of place and creating a meaningful and transformative ritual.
The second part in this series explores how to craft Rites of Renewal. Rituals of renewal bring strength of vision and purpose to times and places and people in need. They are capable of deep healing and transformation. Whether you’ve been asked to conduct a healing ritual for a friend, or have decided to revive an old town custom, there are many opportunities for our community needs to be renewed. Rites of Renewal for the wellbeing of community animals, or blessing the tools of industry and craft are woven into the cycle of celebration in our old lore. Such rites are also conducted to ensure strength and fortune, and recovery after disease, despair or destruction. Such rituals of renewal bond us with the land, with each other and affirm our commitments to the future.
In this class we will explore how folklore and custom gives us a wealth of creative material to allow us to craft meaningful ceremonial experiences for small and large groups.
You will learn:
Establishing rapport with place and people
Working with celestial tides and the almanac
Creating ritual “players” ~ allocating roles and responsibilities
Forms of collective bonding ~ dance, song, and acts of collaborative magic
Offering and sacrifices and their importance in ritual
This series is created for people who are developing their magical work to be in deeper service to the outer community in their field. It is however, open to all.
